I was born in Bath, Somerset. I now live in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
I have been painting for about 35 years. I did a foundation course at Bath Academy of Art when it was at Corsham, Wiltshire, and then a BA Fine Arts course at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design.
I was elected a Member of the Bath Society of Artists in 1988, and have been very involved with the Society. I was Event Secretary for 15 years, and on the Executive committee at the same time. Then the Society Secretary for 5 years until 2016.
I paint in all mediums. I like experimenting and using limited colour palettes.
My mother was a painter, Diana Sylvester RWA ROI (1924-2009) (Hon. Sec. BSA and Vice President). We used to paint together a lot, and we ran a painting class together which I now run on my own.
I have had work in the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal West of England Academy over several years, and taken part in a lot of local exhibitions as well as solo and group Exhibitions.
