SUSAN
GRADWELL
Paintings and etchings, inspired by buried relics from archaeological
finds, with a contemporary twist.
It is the idea of discovery of surviving traces and remains
of lost, decayed, buried artefacts from archaeological explorations
that continually inspires her.
Her inspiration is also drawn from a love of timeless shapes
and forms and the decorative qualities of their pattern and
ornament.
She studied
at St. Martin's School of Art ( BA ) and the Central School
of Art (MA ), London, before moving to the West Country in
1980, where she has continued to live and work.
She is a member of Bath Society of Artists, Artists 303, Spike
Print Studio, Somerset Printmakers and the Bath Artist Printmakers.
