Graduated from The West of England College of Art in 1956. NDD, ATD. After a career in teaching began painting full time in 1990. In 1995 was elected a member of the Royal West of England Academy of Art and in 1999 was given a show at the R.W.A Galleries. At around this time became a member of the Bath Society of Artists. Moved from Bristol to Brighton in 1995.

"Initially influenced by the flattened space and decorative qualities of the Quattrocento and primitive Sienese painting my work has developed within a duality of landscape and still life. The former are often landscapes created or recalled. Memories of special places. The objects in the still life paintings have their own space and aura and form tableaux or placements. I work in oils."

Exhibited at International Art Fairs, the R.W.A., Royal Academy of Art London. The Discerning Eye London, Brighton Art Fair, Brighton Festival. Work shown by The Ainscough Contemporary Art London.
