"As
a painter I love to try and capture the harmonies of colour
and light that surround me in my daily life"
Sue studied painting at Reigate Art School and the Grande Chaumiere
and Academie Julian in Paris. More recently, she attended the
Angel School in Florence.
She worked,
as a graphic designer, at Galleries Lafayette (Paris) and,
following her return to England, became art editor for various
magazines. Subsequently, Sue moved into art direction for
TV commercials until the birth of her youngest child. She
has been painting full time for nearly 25 years and holds
regular workshops in her studio.
Sue produces
a wide range of work, including landscapes, still lives of
flowers and fruit, garden scenes and interiors. The common
denominator is the spontaneous and informal use of colour
and tone. Sue has exhibited at galleries in the United States
and throughout Great Britain, including the RWA, and has had
five solo shows in London. Her latest venture is portraiture
and she has had several successful commissions. Sue is a member
of the Bath Society of Artists.
